Foreign Ministry Seeks Information On Whereabouts Of Iran Embassy Staffer Kidnapped In Yemen

Tehran, July 22, IRNA – Foreign Ministry has sought information from Yemeni government about whereabouts of Iranian Embassy staffer kidnapped in Yemen, Foreign Ministry spokesman Abbas Araqchi said on Sunday. Speaking to IRNA, he said the Iranian national was one of the staffers of the Iranian Embassy in Sanˈˈa who was kidnapped by unknown assailants. Yemeni police announced on Sunday that the unknown people kidnapped a staff member of Iranian Embassy in Sanˈa. The Iranian diplomat was passing through the diplomatic zone in south of Sanˈa that a group of armed people blocked his way and took him out of his car taking him to an unknown place. No group has claimed responsibility for the abduction and the officials at the Iranian foreign ministry are working with Yemeni government to release him./end
