Hassan Khomeini says he will not run for president

TEHRAN,Jan.21(MNA) – Hojjatoleslam Seyyed Hassan Khomeini, the grandson of the late Imam Khomeini, said on Sunday that he will not stand as a candidate in next presidential election. “Such rumors have always been there, and we cannot repeatedly issue statements denying them. But as this has been raised (again) recently, I say that the possibility of my candidacy in the upcoming presidential election is ruled out,” he stated. Iran’s presidential election is scheduled to be held on June 14.
