Indian Scholar Urges Nations To Reject Anti-Iran Sanctions

New Delhi, Jan 30, IRNA – Terming the sanctions including an embargo on Iran oil exports as “illegal”, an Indian religious scholar Monday urged nations to reject anti-Iran sanctions. Talking to IRNA, Maulana Syed Jalal Haider Naqvi, President Shaheed Motahhari Society in Delhi, said, “Basically America and its allies are afraid of Iran’s progress as the country is becoming an ideal not only in the region but in the entire world. 'Since, Iran is always raising the voice against the imperialistic policies of these war mongers, they are making hue and cry against its peaceful nuclear program. It is merely a pretext for controlling the region for their vested interest”. He further noted that the US, its allies and the Zionist regime were not concerned with Iran’s nuclear program. Elaborating his statement, Jalal Haider, who is also the Joint Secretary of Majlis Ulema-e-Hind said, “If they ever been sincere in finding solution to the standoff, they would have welcomed Iran’s cooperation with the IAEA in all possible terms. Instead they ignored the cooperation and adopted belligerent attitude like intensification of sanctions and threatening attacks on nuclear installations”. This proves that they only want to deprive Iran from developments, he said./end
