Iran, Britain Agree To Resume Ties At Non-resident Charge Dd’affaires Level: Afkham

Tehran, Oct 8, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesperson Marzieh Afkham said that the Iranian and British foreign ministers agreed to resume ties at non-resident charge d’affaires level. She said that following the two foreign ministers talks in New York, it was agreed that the negotiations to go ahead on agenda of resuming ties. British Foreign Minister William Hague in a telephone conversation with Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif on Monday gave a proposal to resume ties at non-resident charge d’affaires level, Afkham said. She further noted that Iran will hold talks with the country about the topics such as historic mentality of the Iranian nation about Britain, nuclear program and human rights. Iranian parliament decided to downgrade diplomatic ties with the UK to charge daffaires level after the British government orchestrated EU sanctions over nuclear dispute. /end
