Iran Dismisses Alleged Iranian Commitment To Additional Protocol As ˈBaselessˈ

Baku, Feb 10, IRNA – Iranian Embassy in Azerbaijan, in an statement, on Sunday dismissed alleged Iranian commitment to additional protocol as ˈbaselessˈ. The statement comes after Azerbaijanˈs Trend News Agency quoted US State Departmentˈs Persian-speaking spokesman Alan Eyre as saying Iran has agreed to approve and implement the additional protocol to Non-Proliferation Treaty. Iran and the western governments reached interim agreement on November 24 to take reciprocal action in a time-frame of six months and go ahead with negotiations to sign a comprehensive agreement according to which the western governments will acknowledge Iranian nuclear program as civilian and end propaganda in this respect. The western governments escalated propaganda against Iran nuclear program in the past 10 years to orchestrate sanctions which inflicted several hundred billion dollars damages on national economy. The Iranian Embassy said that acceptance of the protocol needs to be approved by the Iranian parliament. The statement added that the next round of negotiations will begin in Vienna on February 18 and any remarks over issues other than the terminology of the Joint Plan of Action is irrelevant. ˈThe Islamic Republic of Iran, based on its good faith, is responsible to implement the Joint Plan of Action within the agreed timeframe and expects the other sides to remain committed to their promises.ˈ/end
