Iran FM spox slams crackdown on European protesters

Tehran, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Nasser Kanaani in a tweet on Sunday criticized European governments for their dual standard policies in cracking down on protesters. In reaction to the dual standard policies of European leaders, especially the British prime minister, Kanaani criticized European governments for facing issues. Protests in Britain, Germany, France, Canada, and Australia are bad and worthy of severe punishment, but the riots in their target countries are good and deserve support! Kanaani wrote on his Twitter account on Sunday. Pointing to a Persian proverb that says death is good, but for the neighbor!, Kanaani noted that the leaders of these regimes after dividing terrorism into good and bad, also offer their biased definition of unrest and protest. He stressed that officials of regimes that have experienced coups, plots, interventions, and wars with millions of deaths in their history have recently appeared as human rights defenders in other states.
