Iran Ranks 4th In 2013 World Chess Competitions

Tehran, Dec 30, IRNA – Iran stood fourth in 2013 World Chess Competitions in United Arab Emirates among 121 countries participating in the event. During the competition, Pouya Ideni, in under 18 age group, won a gold medal, Motahhareh Asadi silver medal in under ten age bracket while Sara Sadat Khadem al-Sharia grabbed bronze medal in under 16 age group. In speedy chess too, Khadem al-Sharia and Maqsoudlou both won gold medal and Firouzja and Pourmousavi grabbed bronze medals for Iran to stand vice champion in the section. In addition to Iran, contenders from 120 countries participated in 2013 World Chess Competitions held in UAE during December 18-29. Iran was represented by 38 chess players during the event./end
