Iran's South Fars Province-Pakistan Keen To Expand Trade

Shiraz, Fars Prov., Nov 21, IRNA – Governor General of Fars Province Hossein Sadegh Abedin said on Tuesday that his province and Pakistan can have extensive trade. Talking to Pakistani Minister of Commerce and Trade Makhdoom Amin Fahim on Tuesday, Abedin said his province can have favorable cooperation and trade with Pakistan in the fields of agriculture, animal husbandry, industry and mines. He noted that Iran and Pakistan are determined to upgrade volume of their trade. "Iranian and Pakistani private sectors can play an essential role in boosting trade, using abundant capacities available for the purpose." Fahim, for his part, called for development of trade ties between his country and Iran and said implementation of preferential trade agreement, signed by the two sides in 2006, would encourage better cooperation./end
