Iraqi military forces begin operation to liberate Mosul

Tehran, Dec 15, IRNA – Iraqi military forces and that country’s rapid reaction units began a large-scale operation Sunday evening aimed at liberation of Iraq’s strategic Mosul City from the occupation of the medieval ISIS forces. According to Iranian Arabic-language TV channel, Al Alam, the Iraqi Army’s 9th armored unit accompanied by an anti-terrorism Rapid Reaction Unit began their procession towards Mosul on Sunday evening. According to the report, the Iraqi Army’s helicopters are supporting the Iraqi forces in this operation, in addition to Imam Ali (PBUH) volunteer mobilization and Kurdhish Peshmerga forces and a number of the homeless residents of Mosul. The Iraqi President Fouad Massoum has ordered his deputy, Osama Al Nujaifi, to monitor the Iraqi forces’ liberation of Mosul operation that is predicted to take a few days. An Iranian Quds Force overseas operations’ unit of the Islamic Revolution Guard Corps (IRGC) had last week predicted that the good news on total uprooting of the ISIS terrorists in Iraq and Syria will soon be announced./end
