Islamic Guidance Min. Attends OIC Meeting On Gaza

Tehran, Aug 13, IRNA – Minister of Culture and Islamic Guidance, heading a delegation attended executive committee meeting of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC) in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, to consider attacks of the Zionist regime against defensless people of Gaza. Ali Jannati expounded on Iranˈs stances concerning horrible crimes of the Zionist regime against people of Gaza and expressed Iranˈs readiness to assist them. He expressed hope that practical tactics and decisions could be made to help people of Gaza and provide them with emergency needs and prepare necessary materias to rebuild the damage caused by the Zionist regime attacks. Criticizing international community, especially the UN Security Council reaction to attacks of the Zionist regime, Jannati said since the Palestine issue is the most important priority for Islamic Umma and the OIC, it is expected that effective moves be taken in direction of removing and decreasing sufferings of the Palestinian people. He continued that since the beginning of the crisis, Iran has declared its readiness for dispatching medical equipment, medicine and food for damaged people of Gaza and we hope that by reopening the crossing points we can implement it. Jannati called for establishment of an inquiry delegation to consider dimensions of the human tragedy and taking the Zionist regime to international tribunal. Executive committee of the OIC is meeting in Jeddah to consider situation in Gaza and member countries of the organization have attended the meeting in the level of ministers and deputy ministers.
