Lebanon Favors Enhanced Judicial Ties With Iran

Beirut, April 8, IRNA – Lebanese Justice Minister Ashraf Rifi on Monday said his country is ready to sign judicial documents with the Islamic Republic of Iran. In a meeting in Beirut with Iranˈs Ambassador to Lebanon, Ghazanfar Roknabadi, Rifi said Lebanon wants enhanced judicial ties with Iran. During the meeting, the Iranian ambassador presented congratulatory message of Iranian Justice Minister Mostafa Pour-Mohammadi to his Lebanese counterpart on his appointment to the post. Roknabadi said that three judicial documents have already been drafted and are ready to be finalized between Iran and Lebanon. Roknabadi voiced Iranian Ministry of Justiceˈs readiness to sign the documents which was also welcomed by the Lebanese minister. The two sides also reviewed the latest investigations into the terrorist explosions in front of Iranian embassy in Lebanon and the arrest of some people for being behind the incident. The Lebanese minister assured the Iranian ambassador that Beirut would continue with its probe into the case and bring the culprits to justice./end
