Libya Pledges To Pursue Case Of Kidnapped Iranians

Harees, East Azarbaijan, Sept 11, IRNA – Foreign Ministry spokesman Ramin Mehmanparast said Monday that the Libyan officials assured Iran of pursuing the case of abduction of the Iranian aid workers in that country. On the sidelines of his visit to the quake-stricken areas in East Azarbaijan province, Mehmanparast told IRNA that the Iranian government is seriously following up the case too. Iran has held talks with the Libyan officials on the issue, he said, adding the talks have continued even on the sidelines of the Tehran Non-Aligned Movement meeting on August 26-31. He expressed hope that all those measures would bring favorable outcomes. Mehmanparast reiterated that in line with the two sides' efforts to release the abducted Iranians, the grounds were paved for holding telephone conversations with their family members./end
