Luxembourg FM Urges Iranˈs Participation At Planned Syria Confab

Berlin, May 29, IRNA -- Luxembourgˈs Foreign Minister Jean Asselborn stressed that Iran should attend the planned international conference on Syria, scheduled to be held in Geneva, the Berlin-based daily Der Tagesspiegel said in a report to be published Wednesday. If the issue is Syria, a ˈbig country like Iranˈ should of course attend the Syria conference, according to Asselborn. Tehran has reportedly voiced its readiness to attend the international meeting on Syria which is a Russian-Amercan initiative. Meanwhile, Asselborn called on European Union countries to do their utmost to ensure a successful outcome of the Syria conference. He reiterated the need for a diplomatic solution of the Syrian conflict./end
