MP Blasts Int’l Bodies For Silence On Use, Proliferation Of Chemical Weapons

Zanjan, June 30, IRNA – International organizations have remained silent on use of chemical weapons in order to protect their illegitimate interests, said the MP from Zanjan and Tarom. Talking to IRNA Friday, Mohammad Esmaeili added that the big powers are producing chemical weapons in large numbers and the international organizations act according to their wills. Describing arrogant powers as the biggest supporters of the (former Iraqi) Baathist regime in using chemical weapons against the Iranian nation and soldiers, Esmaeili noted that all the weapons had been sold to Iraq by the big powers. Stating that the Baathist regime committed all types of crimes against Iran, he noted that the worst of them was using chemical weapons against the Iranian nation. He further declared that the Islamic system is against the use of any type of chemical weapons and Iran has on several occasions declared its protest to the international bodies./end
