MP: West Has To Recognize Iran’s Right To Enrichment

Tehran, Oct 27, IRNA – Deputy of National Security and Foreign Policy Commission of the Iranian parliament Mansour Haqiqatpour said the 5+1 has to recognize Iran’s right to 20-percent uranium enrichment within its territory. Talking to IRNA, he said 20-percent uranium enrichment is the red line for the Islamic Republic of Iran, adding that Iran has never stopped uranium enrichment. The parliamentarian said Iran carries out 20-percent enrichment for medical purposes and as fuel for Tehran nuclear reactor. He said some 850,000 patients inside the country are in need of medicines manufactured through the enrichment processes. The first round of Iran-IAEA talks was held on September 27 in Vienna in a positive atmosphere. A source at the International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) has announced that the IAEA Director General Yukiya Amano and a member of Irans nuclear team Abbas Araqchi would meet on October 28 in Vienna. The new round of Iran-IAEA talks would then be held at the same place and on the same day soon after Amano’s meeting with Araqchi, the source added./end
