Parliament Delegation To Visit Turkey-S.Arabia-Qatar To Pursue Case Of Kidnapped Iranians In Syria

Tehran, Oct 10, IRNA - - Member of Majlis Commission on Foreign Policy and National Security Abbasali Mansouri said on Tuesday a parliamentary delegation would visit Turkey, Qatar and Saudi Arabia to follow up the case of 47 Iranian pilgrims kidnapped in Syria. He told IRNA that the delegation would meet with relevant officials of the three countries and Iranian ambassadors there to consult on ways of securing the release of the kidnapped pilgrims. Appreciating Iran's diplomacy in this regard, Mansouri said the delegation is also to review all existing mechanisms for release of the hostages as well as key regional and international issues with officials of the host countries. He said the delegation is due to meet with the Saudi Arabian, Turkish and Qatari ambassadors to Tehran to exchange views with them. Syrian insurgents have abducted 47 Iranian pilgrims as on August 4 while traveling on a bus from Damascus International Airport to the shrine of Hazrat Zainab (AS) on the outskirts of the Syrian capital, Damascus. The insurgents are reportedly under the control of Saudi Arabia, Turkey and Qatar./end
