Putin, Trump discuss strategic stability issues, Syria, Ukraine in Osaka - Lavrov

OSAKA /Japan/, June 28. /TASS/. Russian President Vladimir Putin and his US counterpart Donald Trump discussed strategic stability issues on the sidelines of the G20 summit in Osaka. They also raised the issues of Syria and Ukraine, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov said on Friday. "Issues related to strategic stability were discussed," Lavrov told reporters, adding that Syria and Ukraine were also on the agenda. The meeting between Putin and Trump lasted 80 minutes. Opening it, the two leaders noted that the negotiations could be a good reason for continuing dialogue on the numerous issues that have piled up. Taking part in the talks were Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov, First Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister Anton Siluanov, Kremlin Aide Yuri Ushakov and Presidential Spokesman Dmitry Peskov. The US delegation included Secretary of State Mike Pompeo, Secretary of the Treasury Steve Mnuchin, Acting White House Chief of Staff Mick Mulvaney, National Security Advisor John Bolton and White House Press Secretary Stephanie Grisham.
