Rohani Continues Leading Early Election Results

Tehran, June 15, IRNA – The latest results of Iranˈs presidential election vote counting Saturday morning showed that Hassan Rohani is still leading his rivals with 2,720,144 votes. According to the fifth statement of the election headquarters of the Interior Ministry, the results were gained out of the 5,211,245 valid votes from a total 5,378,714 counted ballots so far at 10,718 polling stations. The latest results of the vote counts are as follows: Hassan Rohani: 2,720,144 Mohammad Baqer Qalibaf: 903,389 Saeed Jalili: 679,524 Mohsen Rezaei: 536,735 Ali Akbar Velayati: 305,529 Mohammad Gharazi: 65,934 Millions of Iranians attended polling stations to choose the country’s 11th president as well as their representatives in the city and rural councils. Some 50.5 million Iranians, including over 1.6 million first-time voters, were eligible to vote in the elections./end
