Russia, Arab states cooperation plan for 2016-2018 is almost fulfilled, says Lavrov

MOSCOW, April 16. /TASS/. The cooperation program between Russia and the Arab states for 2016-2018 is almost fully implemented, Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov told a ministerial session of the Russia - Arab States Cooperation Forum. "In addition to exchanging views on international issues we plan to hold talks on the ways to further advance the cooperation between Russia and Arab states in the spheres of trade, economy, investment, culture and education," he said. "We expect to consider and approve the next action plan to implement the principles, goals and targets of our forum in 2019-2021." "I am pleased to point out that the provisions of the last three year-long plan are almost fully realized," Lavrov concluded. The action plan for the implementation of the principles, goals and objectives of the Russian-Arab cooperation for 2016-2018 was approved at a ministerial session in Moscow in February 2016. It contains agreements to boost cooperation in the cultural, humanitarian and economic spheres. Read more
