Turkish Parliament sets up Zambia friendship group

ANKARA (A.A) - December 22, 2011 - Turkish Parliament established on Thursday a friendship group with Zambia. A Justice & Development (AK) Party lawmaker was elected the chairman of the Turkey-Zambia Parliamentary Friendship Group. "Turkey wants to boost trade and friendship with Zambia, and therefore we have set up the friendship group," chairman of the group, Yunus Kilic, told AA correspondent. Kilic said Turkey opened an embassy in Zambia some time ago, but this country only had an honorary consulate in Istanbul. The lawmaker also said they would launch initiatives for Zambia to open an embassy in Turkey.
