Zarif, Ashton To Meet In Istanbul: Source

Tehran, May 26, IRNA – Iranian Foreign Minister Mohammad Javad Zarif will confer with EU foreign policy chief Catherine Ashton in Istanbul Monday, an informed source told IRNA on Monday. Speaking on condition of anonymity, the source added that Zarif and Ashton will discuss the latest developments regarding Tehran-G5+1 nuclear negotiations. Zarif will leave Istanbul for Algiers to attend the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM) ministerial meeting. He will make a speech at the conference and hold separate meetings with officials from NAM member states on the sidelines of the meeting, which is scheduled to be held on May 26-29. During the event, NAM foreign ministers will also decide on issues related to the 17th NAM summit that will be held in Venezuela next year. In August 2012, Iran assumed the rotating presidency of NAM for a three-year term during the movement’s summit in the Iranian capital, Tehran./end
