British Adams beats Polish Drabik for boxing gold

Baku, June 25, AZERTAC Nicola Adams, the first female Olympic Boxing champion, has become the first European Games Boxing champion by beating Sandra Drabik for the flyweight (48-51kg) title. The British fighter, who won flyweight gold at the London 2012 Olympic Games, took the first Boxing gold medal of the Baku 2015 Games after a frenetic bout against the gutsy and talented Polish pugilist. Two of the judges – from Sweden and Colombia – awarded the fight 39-37 to Adams, while the third – from Tunisia – scored it 38-38.
