Iranian National Football Team Beats Lebanon 4-0 In World Cup Qualifier

Tehran, June 11, IRNA – Iranian National Football team beat Lebanon National Football Team in a World Cup qualifier game played at Tehran’s Azadi Football Stadium here Tuesday evening. The gameˈs first goal was scored at the 39th minute of the first half by Mohammad-Reza Khal’atbari who had entered the penalty zone of Lebanon all alone and shot a soft, but highly technical goal into the corner of the Lebanese side’s net. After scoring the first goal the Iranian team seemed to have gained greater appetite for scoring more goals until the first minute of the extra time of the first half when Captain Javad Nekounam shot the ball to the center of the Lebanese National Team’s penalty zone and Khosrow Heidari turned it into Iran’s second goal. In the 32nd minute, Khostow Heidari shot a heavy kick towards the Lebanese net, which was blocked by their goal keeper. A minute later Mohammad-Reza Khal’atbari had kicked another good shot which was blocked in the penalty zone by the good goal keeper of Lebanon. As time went on Khal’atbari and Heidari gained a number of other serious chances for scoring more goals, but the Lebanese defense line players safeguarded their net and deprived the Iranian side of scoring more goals. At the 26th minute Mas’oud Shoja’ie took control of the ball at the penalty area, but although there were a number of other Iranian players in good positions for scoring another goal, he tied to shoot the ball himself and after hitting a Lebanese defense line player, the ball went out of the field and the Lebanese Team took a breath of relief. At the 11th minute, Reza Qouchan-Nezhad received a shot from Mohammad-Reza Khal’atbari and forwarded it towards the Lebanese net after turning that way, but the ball went off over the horizontal bar of the goal. The Lebanese players several times laid on the grass of the football field for several minutes after falling down, which led to objection shouts of the Iranian football fans at the stadium. The Head Coach Carlos Queiroz was taking advantage of Rahman Ahmadi, Pezhman Montazeri, Seyyed Jalal Hosseini, Khosrow Heidari, Hashem Beigzadeh (as of the 80th minute), Javad Nekounam, Andranik Teymourian, Reza Qouchan-Nezhad, Mojtaba Jabbari (As of the 70th minute), Mas’oud Shoja’ie (as of the 69th minute) and Mohammad Khal’atbari. The game which was played relatively in equal conditions for both sides from the 60th to the 75th minutes with no more goals scored for either side turned into a one-sided all invading game for Iran when the Iranian team’s Portuguese Head Coach Carlos Queiroz sent Mohsen Mosalman and Gholam-Reza Reza’ie to the field and pulled out Mas’oud Shoja’ie and Mojtaba Jabbari. The Iranian players began the second half invading fiercely and a minute later at the 46th minute Jabbari presented the ball at the depth of Lebanese defense men to Qouchan-Nezhad and he left the defense players behind and scored a nice goal. After scoring the 3rd goal the Iranian national team’s players maintained full control of the ball and the field until the 86th minute when Captain Javad Nekounam kicked the ball from a far distance and scored the game’s fourth and most beautiful goal. The Iranian National Football team’s next and last competent in this round of games is South Korea, which has been blocked in a 1-1 game with Lebanon in Beirut./end
