Farmers in North Khorasan province, northeastern Iran, start harvesting pistachios in 5,900 hectares of orchards in late summer. The product is sent to processing factories. Jajarm and Esfarayen counties boast the largest areas dedicated to pistachio farming in this province and are the hubs of pistachio production in eastern Iran.
