CJ Group to invest 1.25 tln won this year


SEOUL, Jan. 25 (Yonhap) -- CJ Group, a South Korean conglomerate, plans to invest
1.25 trillion won (US$1.1 billion) this year, up 25 percent from a year ago, the
group said Monday.

About 50 percent of the total investment, or 570 billion won, will be spent on
the culture and service business, the group said.
CJ also will invest 300 billion won into the group's information and technology
infrastructure and 350 billion won on the construction of plants both at home and
abroad.
The group is aiming for 15.74 trillion won in sales in 2010, up 9 percent from a
year ago, hoping to draw 4 trillion won of that from overseas.
CJ Group plans to hire about 3,000 new employees this year, the group said.
