Construction of roads in Astana

Astana, 20 June 2008, Khabar - The number of traffic jams will be reduced
in Astana by July 6. Construction of bridge and two transport flyovers is
ending in the capital. About 100 km of streets will be reconstructed in
Astana for its 10th anniversary. Large-scale construction is underway in
Astana. The construction of bridge over Ishim River on Kabanbai avenue was
begun last June and it is planned to end it this month. Six-strip bridge
will have length 130 meters and will reduce the nukber of cars in Astana
streets.

Askar Muratuly, deputy director of department of passenger transport and
roads in Astana:
- After this bridge is ended, the residents of capital will be able to get
to right bank from the left one and back. This will speed up the entrance to
the administrative center of city, simplify the traffic and economize time.

Road junction is being ended on crossroads of Republic avenue, Tashenov and
Barayev streets. The territory is overhauled and signs are set here.

- Of course, the roads must be widened in order to simplify the traffic and
not to lose time in traffic jams.

One more road junction with 6b and 8 strips is constructed on the left bank
of Astana, on crossroads of streets Orynbor and Syganak. The two-level
junction will allow the auto drivers to drive day and night. The object is
ended for 90%.

- The left bank is being developed very dynamically and this road junction
will join the side of Pyramid. Bridge M-3 is being constructed there and in
future the transport flow will don't come to the city and will go by circle
road that is being constructed now.

So called Southern round road will be ended by Astana anniversary. Transit
transport will not enter the center but drive around the city. 4 areas of
round road are ended and 2 more areas will be constructed in future. But of
course, large cars will enter the city to some industrial districts, says
Amangeldy Bekov, deputy head of Committee of auto roads. One new bridge, 2
road junctions and 8 streets with renewed communications will appear in
Astana by the beginning of July. 50 km of roads are reconstructed and 20 km
