S. Korea carries out 24.5 tln won worth of projects in Jan.

SEOUL, Feb. 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korea carried out state-led projects worth 24.5
trillion won (US$21.2 billion) last month, the finance ministry said Wednesday.

According to the Ministry of Strategy and Finance, the amount was larger than an
earlier objective of 23.2 trillion won earmarked for the month. It is out of
271.2 trillion won set aside for government projects for this year.
The larger-than-expected figure is in line with the government's plan to
frontload its budget this year, aiming to boost domestic demand and bolster the
overall economy.
