Ssangyong Motor wins export order from Vietnam

SEOUL, Feb. 11 (Yonhap) -- Ssangyong Motor Co., which has been under bankruptcy
protection for nearly a year, said Thursday it has signed a contract to export
16,000 sport-utility vehicles to Vietnam by 2014.

The value of the contract with Vietnamese company Xuankien Vinaxuki was not
disclosed, according to a statement by Ssangyong.
Under the contract, Ssangyong will provide Kyron SUVs to the Vietnamese company
on a completely knockdown basis, the statement said.
Ssangyong, the smallest automaker in South Korea, was placed under bankruptcy
protection in February last year, becoming the nation's first major corporate
victim of the global financial crisis.
