Ust-Kamenogorsk, February 14, 2009, Khabar - Berdybek Saparbayev sets tasks for East Kazakhstan region. The governor of the East Kazakhstan region, Berdybek Saparbayev has set tasks for further implementation of breakthrough projects, improvement of environmental situation in the region, and creation of enterprises for processing of agricultural products for the region’s body of active functionaries. The primary issue for the East Kazakhstan residents today is whether the region’s power system is able to stand the frost which has been common for the region for more than a month so far. Many people are aware of the accident in the “Solnechnyi” village and heating breakdowns in Semey.

Berdybek Saparbayev, East Kazakhstan regional governor:
- We will never let our population centers be left without heating, water, electricity and other public services. There may be some breakdowns due to the weather conditions. However, on the whole, the situation will be brought to stability as we’ve sorted out the problem in “Solnechnyi” village.

According to the regional governor, the region increased the production of gross output in 2009 while local industrial enterprises proceed with implementing breakthrough projects. Samples of new products have already been received at the Ulba metallurgical plant and titanium-magnesium works. The projects by “Kazzink” and “Kazakhmys” corporations are at the stage of completion. According to the president’s address, the year 2010 is the year of overcoming the crisis. The next forum of frontier cooperation featuring the presidents of both Kazakhstan and Russia will take place this summer in Ust-Kamenogorsk. Preparation works for this event have already been launched. Beekeepers from all around the world will arrive at the district center to take part in a honey fair before the forum. Agricultural producers were assigned a great part this year as well. The Mogilevsk regional delegation attended the reporting session by the head of East Kazakhstan. Belarusian entrepreneurs have recently signed an agreement on the creation of joint productions in Kazakhstan. Guests also showed interest in methods of cooperation between the authorities and people.

Pyotr Rudnik, Mogilevsk regional governor (Belarus):
- The form of interaction I’ve witnessed today deserves attention. I will also try to use the experience of holding such reports in the republic of Belarus.

During the meeting, Berdybek Saparbayev asked all the heads of the region to organize discussion session of the president’s address at enterprises and departments.
