28 M'SIAN BUSINESSMEN AT EXPO PAKISTAN NEXT WEEK

KUALA LUMPUR, Feb 17 (Bernama) -- Twenty-eight Malaysian business persons
representing 15 companies are all set to attend one of the biggest trade shows
in Karachi on Feb 26-28.

Pakistan's Acting High Commissioner in Malaysia Dr Imtiaz A Kazi said their
participation at Expo Pakistan clearly reflected ever-growing trade, business
and investment ties between the two countries.

It would certainly provide them with the opportunity to interact with their
Pakistani counterparts for business networking and enable them to gain greater
insight of the mutually beneficial trade and business opportunities available in
Pakistan, he said.

In a statement Wednesday, he said: "Expo Pakistan aims to provide
unprecendented
opportunities to its participants to display quality value added products to a
wide range of high profile buyers.

"It acts as a one stop sourcing platform for new business alliances in
trade, business and investments and provides ideal networking opportunities to
the local as well as international participants through product workshops and
one-to-one meetings."

The Pakistan High Commission's Commercial Counselor Wajiullah Kundi who will
accompany the Malaysian delegation, said the fifth edition of the Expo Pakistan,
with the theme "Opportunities Unlimited", has blossomed to become an emerging
brand in the calendar of international trade events of the region and
across the world.

He said the Expo would particularly showcase auto and auto spare parts,
fabrics and apparels, food ingredients, gems and jewelry, home decorations,
industrial goods, information technology, leather goods, services sectors,
sports goods, surgical and pharmacy and textile goods.

Members of the Malaysian delegation would include representatives from the
Malaysian Palm Oil Board, the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation,
Renexus Group, Indah Profiles Sdn Bhd, Pollution Engineering (M) Sdn Bhd and
Syarikat Manora Sdn Bhd, he said.

The last Expo held in 2008 generated over US$50 million in business and saw
63 memoranda of understanding being signed. It was attended by 669 buyers from
66 countries.
