Corruption fighting
Astana, 26 June 2008, Khabar - Public council on corruption fighting
inspected the work of one-stop-shop service centres. List of corrupted
establishments and organizations that were exposed in corruption, was
replenished. About several corrupted cases became known during the fourth sitting of public council on corruption fighting. Some members of "Nur Otan" party were excluded because they were exposed in corruption.
Oralbai Abdykarimov, chairman of Republican public council on corruption
fighting under "Nur Otan" party:
- The most important problems are among the officials of law enforcement
structures, Prosecutor's office, courts and akimats of various levels. We
receive many complaints for the illegality of court decisions. Analysis of
received replies also doesn't make us optimistic. Only 1/3 of all our
addresses received positive answer.
The results of repeated inspection of one-stop-shop service centres were
presented as well. The Justice Ministry initiated this inspection. Last year
two officials of one-stop-shop service centres were sentenced for taking
bribe. This year criminal cases were begun too.
Dulat Kustavletov, Vice Minister of Justice of RK:
- Only openness, transparency of all these procedures can make those
services successful. Any person must receive qualitative and quick
assistance without any problems.
Youth wing "Zhas Otan" also takes an active part in corruption fighting. Its
responsible secretary Nurlan Uteshev reported about results of Internet poll
about level of corruption in Universities. 2 219 people took part in it.
Nurlan Uteshev, executive secretary of youth wing "Zhas Otan":
- South Kazakhstani State Medical Academy takes 1st place of corruption
with 245 votes. Then follows Taraz State University of Dulati with 217
votes, third place - Korkyt-ata Kyzylorda University with 186 votes. I think
2 200 votes - it is a civil position of those young people who don't want to
put up with corruption.
Also the participants of the meeting discussed issue of eliminating of
defects in distributing and using of land resources. Majilis deputies
suggest to reduce term of rendering of state services in this sphere. They
think it will help to cut number of abuses. The 5th sitting of the council
