(ATTN: UPDATES with more details throughout)
By Nam Kwang-sik
SEOUL, March 10 (Yonhap) -- South Korean business groups plan to host a meeting
between global businesspeople and leaders of the Group of 20 leading economies in
November in Seoul, ahead of the fifth round of the G-20 summit, a business lobby
group said Wednesday.
The first-ever G-20 business summit will take place on November 10-11 ahead of
the G-20 summit slated for November 11-12 in the same venue, the Korea Chamber of
Commerce and Industry (KCCI) said.
KCCI and other business bodies launched an organizing committee for the business
summit later in the day, the chamber said.
The organizing committee is jointly led by KCCI Chairman Sohn Kyung-shik, Cho
Suck-rai, head of the Federation of Korean Industries, and Knowledge Ecomomy
Minister Choi Kyung-hwan.
The agenda for the business summit cover the four sectors -- trade, investment,
finance and green growth -- and a dialogue with G-20 leaders, it said.
"The G-20 business summit will bring an opportunity for the private sector to
lead the global economic recovery," the committee said.
