Former President Khamtay Siphandone opens historical museum in Savannakhet

VIENTIANE, MACH 23 (KPL) - Former President Khamtay Siphandone opened a newly built historical museum in Kaysone Phomvihane district, Savannakhet province, on 18 March.
Also present at the opening were Mr. Vilayvanh Phomkhe, Governor of Savannaket, Mr. Boua-ngeun Saphouvong, Deputy Minister of Information and Culture, and relevant officials in the province.
“Savannaket is a province where people have maintained a long tradition of hard working and innovation and they also have a long tradition of brave fighting against enemies. The war led by Father Kadouat during the feudal era is among their most prominent,” said Mr. Bounyong Saypanya, member of Savannakhet Provincial Party Committee.
Savannakhet authorities decided to build the historical museum to promote the traditional bravery of Lao People’s
Army.
