(New Product) Peugeot starts selling 3008 compact SUVs in S. Korea

SEOUL, April 5 (Yonhap) -- French carmaker PSA Peugeot Citroen began selling its
compact sport-utility vehicle the 3008 in South Korea to increase sales here, its
importer said Monday.
The price for the 3008 with a 1.6-liter gasoline engine was set at 38.5 million
won (US$34,200) in South Korea, Hanbul Motors Corp. said in a statement.
The 3008 is one of Peugeot's latest models to restore its image as a leader in
the family car segment.
Last year, sales of Peugeot cars in South Korea plunged 45.6 percent from a year
ago to 1,056 vehicles, according to industry data.
The sharp decline in sales forced Hanbul Motors to sign a contract in mid-2009
with its creditors to reschedule debts.
