Water supply and electricity payment possible via ATM

VIENTINE ,05 APRIL (KPL) - Lao people nationwide will pay their monthly bills of water supply and electricity through the Automated Teller Machine (ATM) system of the Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao in the near future.
The Deputy Head of the Research and Strategic Plan Centre of the Banque pour le Commerce Exterieur Lao (BCEL), Mme. Kongchay Thanomsinh, said at the grand opening of a new branch of M-Point Mart on 4 April.
Mme. Kongchay continued that the BCEL’s objectives were to provide convenience to our customers in buying consumer goods and reduce risks of carrying large amount of cash.
At present, Lao people nationwide who have ATM cards can apply this card instead of cash to buy goods at hotels, restaurants, stores and gas stations where they are BCEL members marked with its logo, she added.
The BCEL started introducing ATM for customers in 2004.
