Korea Exchange chief to attend meeting of Asian, Oceanian bourses

SEOUL, April 13 (Yonhap) -- The head of the Korea Exchange (KRX), South Korea's
stock market operator, plans to attend this year's general assembly of the Asian
and Oceanian Stock Exchanges Federation (AOSEF) in Indonesia this week to discuss
market trends and current issues of exchanges in the region, the operator said
Tuesday.
KRX Chairman Kim Bong-soo will make a three-day trip from Wednesday to attend the
meeting that will take place on the Indonesian resort island of Bali. Kim is
expected to hold talks to discuss various cooperative measures with his
counterparts of other member countries.
On top of the agenda at this year's AOSEF meeting is the role and cooperation of
exchanges for the enhancement of corporate governance in the region, KRX said.
Established in 1982, the 19-member AOSEF aims to promote closer ties among the
region's exchanges.
