Hyundai Motor launches plant to assemble buses, trucks in Kemerovo.

KEMEROVO, April 13 (Itar-Tass) - The South Korean company Hyundai
Motor jointly with the company Kuzbass Auto will launch the first Russian
plant to assemble Hyundai buses and trucks in the village of Drachenino,
the Kemerovo Region. Well-known Russian business tycoon possesses the
Kuzbass Auto Company.
Some 120 people have already been employed at the moment of
commissioning the plant, a source in the regional industry department told
Itar-Tass on Tuesday.
Russia will be the major sales market for the plant at the first
stage. The design capacity of the plant working in two shifts is about
1,000 cars before the end of 2010, the source said.
In 2011 the scheduled output will double (up to 2.2 thousand
vehicles). By the end of 2013 Hyundai is planning to put into operation
additional capacities in order to increase the annual output to 10,000
vehicles.
Along with vehicles under the brand of Hyundai, the plant is planning
to produce buses and trucks under the brand of Kuzbass.
An official commissioning ceremony of the plant is scheduled for
Wednesday, April 14.
