Relief group to raise funds for quake-stricken China

SEOUL, April 15 (Yonhap) -- The Seoul branch of an international relief
organization said Thursday it has launched a donation drive to help earthquake
victims in China.
The Korea Food for the Hungry International said it plans to deliver food, tents,
medical supplies with other relief products to the victims. The donation drive
will be carried out through South Korean Internet portals including Naver and
Cyworld, along with the organization's website.
An earthquake measuring 7.1 on the Richter scale struck the Qinghai Province in
northwest China on Wednesday, killing more than 580 people and injuring some
10,000 others. A quake of 7.9 magnitude claimed 90,000 lives in China two years
ago.
KHFI is the Korean branch of Food for the Hungry International (KHFI), which
conducts relief activities in roughly 70 states including North Korea.
