Dushanbe, 7 July 2008, Khabar - Actions dedicated to Astana anniversary are held not only in Kazakhstan, but also abroad. In Dushanbe, Kazakhstani diplomats held briefing.
Ambassador extraordinary and plenipotentiary of
Kazakhstan to Tajikistan Abutalip Akhmetov told the journalists about
history of shifting of capital from Almaty to Astana. photo exhibition
"Astana is Capital of Future" was also held in embassy. Tajik journalists noted the country developed rapidly during 10 years.
Mardon Muhammad, correspondent of Persian service of "BBC" radio:
- It is difficult to believe that during such short period of time Astana
became such a modern, beautiful city from regional center, its architecture
includes Western and Oriental styles and color. It is really unique event
and I don't know any other such cases in world. I congratulate Astana
residents and all Kazakhstani brothers on such memorable date and I wish
