Operating Yemen industrial zones by ICD discussed

SANA'A, April 24 (Saba)- Minister
of Industry and Trade Yahya al-Mutawakil met here on Saturday with the Islamic
Corporation
for the Development of Private Sector (ICD)'s delegation currently visiting Yemen.
The two sides discussed the possibility of ICD's contribution to developing and
operating the Yemeni industrial zones and border economic areas.
In this aspect, the ICD's delegation voiced the corporation's readiness to study
Yemen's requirements and needs in this field.
It affirmed the ICD's full cooperation in creating partnerships with the local and
international private sector to develop and operate the industrial zones and border
economic
areas in Yemen.
During the meeting, the two sides dealt with the current cooperation between Yemen
and the corporation and the projects implemented in partnership with the Yemeni
private
sector.
Al-Mutawakil expressed his hope that the coming period would witness further
cooperation in all fields, particularly the development and operating of the
industrial zones
in accordance with the models internationally recognized.
He reviewed the projects of industrial zones and the border economic areas and the
role relied on to attract more investments and strategic projects to Yemen in order
to
achieve comprehensive and sustainable development.
It is worth to mention that the Islamic Corporation for the Development of Private
Sector (ICD) is a part of the Islamic Development Bank (IDB)'s Group.
