Pakistan PM likely to visit Bangladesh soon

KUALA LUMPUR, July 10 (BSS)- The Pakistan Prime MinisterYousuf Raja Gillani is likely to visit Bangladesh soon.

" I am interested to visit Bangladesh at any convenient time next month", Gillani said, during a bilateral meeting withBangladesh Chief Adviser Dr. Fakhruddin Ahmed last evening.

The two leaders held the meeting at hotel Hilton on thesideline of the D-8 Summit.

Later, briefing the newsmen press secretary to the chief adiviser Sayed Fahim Munaim told two leaders discussed matters relating to different bilateral issues including the recent bomb attack in Pakistan and the adverseimpact of climate change in South Asia.

Condemning the bomb attacked, Dr Fakhruddin said everycountry should fight together against any terrorism.

He said Bangladesh has taken very firm and strong stepagainst terrorism.

In this connection, the Chief Adviser said there are no majorincident of terrorism in Bangladesh during the last 18 months.

Gillani told the Chief Adviser that relatively peace in Pakistan at present as his government has taken firm step againstterrorism.

When the Pakistan Prime Minister wanted to know about the natural climates in Bangladesh, the Chief Adviser said Bangladeshis facing disaster every year due to global warming.

Dr. Fakhruddin said Bangladesh has taken adaptation strategyto meet the challenges.

He said the other countries those are responsible for globalwarming should come forward to this end.

About the expected visit of Pakistan Prime Minister toBangladesh, he said, Bangladesh is looking forward for his visit.

Foreign Adviser Dr Iftekhar Ahmed Chowdhury, Cabinet Secretary Ali Imam Majumder and Press Secretary to the ChiefAdviser Syed Fahim Munaim were present at the meeting.
