Growing Sino-Indian trade ties mutually beneficial: China

Beijing, May 13 (PTI) China on Thursday underlined its
determination to boost bilateral ties, saying the "fast
developing" Sino-Indian trade relations brought mutual
benefits.
"Our trade relations have been developing fast,
bringing tangible benefits to the two peoples," said Ma
Zhaoxu, the Foreign Ministry spokesperson.
Ma declined to comment on the row linked to Indian
Environment Minister Jairam Ramesh's remark describing Home
Ministry's approach towards Chinese investments in India as
"alarmist".
When asked whether the reported Indian restrictions on
Chinese telecom equipment would have any negative impact, the
spokesperson said the "fast developing" Sino-Indian trade
relations brought mutual benefits and Beijing was ready to
work with New Delhi to boost cooperation in various fields.
"We stand ready to work with the Indian side to have
practical cooperation in various fields on the basis of
equality and mutual benefit," he said.
China has not commented on the controversy generated
in India over Ramesh's critical remarks over "restrictions" on
the imports of Chinese telecom equipment.
Ramesh, while talking here recently about the
India-China warmth developed during the Copenhagen Summit on
Climate Change, had suggested that the Home Ministry needed to
be "much more relaxed" in its approach to Chinese investments
in India. PTI KJV
