KPK AND POLICE TO MEET DISCUSSING BANK CENTURY CASE

Jakarta, May 14 (ANTARA) - The investigation teams of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) and the National Police headquarters will meet to discuss how the Bank Century case would be handled.

"The two teams will meet to discuss the developments in dealing with the Bank Century case," KPK spokesman Johan Budi said in Jakarta Friday.

Johan added that the matter had been agreed on at a meeting between KPK executives M. Jasin and Haryono, and Chief of Police General Bambang Hendarso Danuri at the Police Headquarters in Jakarta.

Johan said the meeting between the investigation teams of the KPK and the police would be useful for KPK in getting more information and data on the Bank Century case.

KPK has interrogated at least 90 people in the case, including Vice President Boediono and Finance Minister Sri Mulyani.

Boediono had been questioned by KPK in his capacity as former BI governor, while Sri Mulyani as former chairwoman of the Financial System Stability Committee (KSSK).

Both may have played a role in the disbursement of the Short-Term Funding Facility (FPJP) worth Rp689 billion, and the Provisional Capital Participation (PMS) of Rp6.7 trillion to Bank Century.
