TRAIN CARRIAGE DERAILS IN C JAVA

Tegal, C Java, May 24 (ANTARA) - A carriage of an express train serving the Tegal (Central Java)-Gambir (Jakarta) route derailed in Tegal depot on Monday.

The accident occurred when the train was shunting, chief of the Tegal railway station, Hari Supriyono, said.

"The related authorities still investigate the causes of the accident. The derailed carriage is being evacuated," he said.

There were no fatalities in the accident but 300 passengers would be transferred to Argo Sindoro train to enable them to continue their trip to Jakarta, he said.
