METEOROLOGY INSTITUTE REPORTS
Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, /MONTSAME/ Institute of Meteorology and Hydrology has revealed that a maximum precipitation was in Galshar soum (65.0 mm) of Khentii aimag in May, 2010. Absolute high air temperature reached 32.9°C in Darkhan soum of Darkhan-Uul aimag, whereas absolute low air temperature was -11.0°C in Tsetsen-Uul soum of Zavkhan aimag and Jargalant soum of Bayankhongor aimag.
Highest cover of snow stood at 12 cm in Galuut soum of Bayankhongor aimag. Maximum wind speed reached 40 m/sec in Zavkhan soum of Uvs aimag.
Concentration of sulphur dioxide exceeded twice around Khan-Uul district of Ulaanbaatar, concentration of nitrogen dioxide exceeded twice in the 32nd Toirog and around the 13th micro district, respectively; particulate matter less than 2.5 micrograms exceeded 6 times in Erdenet city the maximum allowable concentration of air quality standard this May.
