DON'T EXPECT JUSTICE FROM ISRAEL - DR MAHATHIR

KUALA LUMPUR, June 15 (Bernama) -- The world cannot expect justice from a
commission set up by Israel to investigate the May 31 Gaza flotilla raid, Dr
Mahathir Mohamad said Tuesday.

The former Malaysian prime minister, who is also Perdana Global Peace
Organisation chairman, said it was unacceptable that Israel had set up such a
commission as it was involved in the attack and killing of peace activists on
board the Mavi Marmara.

The Mavi Marmara was part of a flotilla of ships aiming to break Israel's
blockade of the Gaza Strip and deliver supplies to the Hamas-ruled territory.

"How can Israel do this...it's like murderer...they get people and they have
judgement over their own killing, if you have that system, then there is no
justice," he told a press conference after the opening ceremony of World
Engineering, Science and Technology Congress (ESTCON) 2010 here Tuesday.

The commission was approved yesterday by Israel's cabinet in responding
to international demands and force by United Nations Secretary-General Ban
Ki-moon who continued to push for a full international investigation.

On May 31, Israeli commandos stormed a humanitarian aid ship bound for the
blockaded Gaza, resulting in the death of seven Turks who were among the peace
activists, including 12 Malaysians, on board the vessel.
