OSCE Conference on reviewing security problems.

Vienna, June 16, 2010 (Khabar) - The situation in Kyrgyzstan has been discussed at the Vienna headquarters of the OSCE. The Austrian capital is hosting an annual conference on reviewing security problems. OSCE has drawn its attention to the events in Kyrgyzstan and the conference attendees revered the memory of killed people in the south of country. Kazakhstan has informed about measures of our country and President Nazarbayev on regulation of situation in neighboring republic, negotiations of Kanat Saudabayev, incumbent OSCE chairman-in-office, Secretary of State and Minister for Foreign Affairs of RK with thee head of the interim Kyrgyz government and colleagues from OSCE member-states and heads of international organizations.

Konstantin Zhigalov, deputy Kazakhstani minister of foreign affairs:
- This is an unexpected conflict, which arose within the OSCE area, which has been a concern of the OSCE member-states for rather a long time. All the states are seeking to find an effective mechanism of support, which enables the bloodshed in Kyrgyzstan to be stopped and for the necessary assistance to be given.

The conference agenda includes a discussion of the OSCE Strategy on the counteraction of threats to security and stability, the execution of obligations to combat terrorism, military and political aspects of security and conflict prevention.

Bolat Sembinov, deputy Kazakhstani Minister of Defence:
- The military-political dimension is the basis of the OSCE. They are the problems associated with the implementation and modernization of the Vienna document and confidence-building measures in the military arena. They are the problems associated with the need for full implementation of the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe. And, of course, our country is interested in the fact that all the mechanisms laid out in the political and military dimension of the OSCE are fully operated.

The conference participants consider the Treaty on Conventional Armed Forces in Europe to be the basis of security. They admit that the perseverance and consistency of Kazakhstan in the post of OSCE chairman will help the organization to work effectively.

Konstantin Zhigalov, deputy Kazakhstani minister of foreign affairs:
- Today’s event proves once again that our approach to equal filling of all three baskets of the organization justifies itself, and our four “T”’s, with tolerance and trust are on the OSCE agenda.
