MALAYSIAN KITCHEN @ TASTE OF LONDON EXPECTS 50,000 VISITORS

KUALA LUMPUR, June 16 (Bernama) -- The Malaysia Kitchen @ Taste of London
festival to be launched Thursday at Regent's park, is expected to attract more
than 50,000 visitors.

The four-day event is part of the ongoing Malaysia Kitchen Promotion
campaign organised by the Malaysia External Trade Development Corporation
(MATRADE).

It is aimed at promoting Malaysian cuisine, drive business to Malaysian
restaurants and promote the country through Malaysian restaurants overseas.

MATRADE said the launch of the Malaysia Kitchen in London in January this
year had successfully driven over 12,000 consumers into Malaysian restaurants
while enhancing the visibility of Malaysian cuisine.

"Feedback from participating restaurants on the offers was extremely
positive with many saying that their business had increased by at least 25 per
cent during the promotional period," it said in a statement here Wednesday.

Internationally renowned chef, Rick Stein, will officially open the Taste of
London 2010 and Taste of Malaysia.
