(LEAD) Hyundai Heavy wins US$190 mln order for power plant

SEOUL, June 16 (Yonhap) -- Hyundai Heavy Industries Co., the world's largest
shipbuilder, said Wednesday that it has won a US$190 million order to build a
gas-powered power plant in Saudi Arabia.
Under the deal with Dhuruma Electricity Co., Hyundai Heavy will complete the
facility in Dhuruma, 125 kilometers west of Riyadh, the capital city of the
Middle Eastern country, by March 20, 2013, the company said in a regulatory
filing.
Shares of Hyundai Heavy were trading at 229,500 won on the Seoul bourse as of
11:10 a.m., up 1.77 percent.
Hyundai Heavy was picked as a preferred bidder for the power plant project in
March this year.
Hyundai Heavy plans to design, construct and test-run the plant.
