MALAYSIAN BORN SINGER MAKES WAVES IN THE LAND OF THE RISING SUN

KUALA LUMPUR, June 28 (Bernama) -- A Malaysian-born singer has crooned his
way into the hearts of the Japanese with his debut album, "I Need You Baby".

Muhammad Aizuddin Anwar, or Aizdean, has attracted 30,000 mobile downloads
among youngsters in the Land of the Rising Sun.

His debut album, which is in Japanese and English, was also distributed in
the United States and Europe via iTunes.

Now, the 27-year-old Selayang-born Aizdean is set to release another single
album with only the Japanese version, "Show Me The Glory", next month.

The album is an image song for a Japanese game called "Far East of Eden".

Aizdean told Bernama in an e-mail interview that he wished to promote
Japanese music in Malaysia and Malaysian music in Japan.

The holder of a Master's Degree in Electronics Engineering from the
University of Electro-Communications, Tokyo, will be coming home Monday for a
holiday until July 10.

"My dream is to become someone who can build more bridges between Malaysia
and Japan in adding more excitement by giving alternatives to the people there,"
said Aizdean, who used to sing in a nasyid group during his school days.

"I'm coming back for some personal matters...at the same time I want to
eat
all the nasi lemak (platter of food wrapped in banana leaf, with cucumber
slices, small dried anchovies, roasted peanuts, hard boiled egg, and hot spicy
sauce at its core), roti canai (a type of flatbread) and a popular brand fried
chicken that I miss there," he said.

Aizdean, whose idols include Siti Nurhaliza, Dayang NurFaizah and Linkin
Park, started to learn singing in the Japanese language in January last year.

He said he got interested in singing Japanese songs when he was 18 years old
and started to learn the Japanese language after the Malaysian Certificate of
Education examination.

He studied the language for a year here and another year in Tokyo.

Aizdean is currently being sponsored by Tourism Malaysia, Japan Malaysia
Association (JMA), Van Council and Dragon Beard in Japan.

"I'm also looking forward to having more sponsors in Malaysia as I need
support from my homeland," said the up-and-coming young star who specialises in
Rhythm and Blues (R&B).

He also wants to release more albums worldwide.
